Last Night
04:46
|
|||
Last night we were doing alright
Finding ways to just lose track of time
All night I was missing road signs
And you were patient on the other side
Take me back into a good night
Getting lost and going way way out of sight
On a long drive
Don't forget this in the daylight
We go past all of the old sights bright-eyed
And making new time
Night skies here are always way too bright
And they remind me of these endless drives
Oh nice try, think you're getting by
Just playing things on rewind almost all the time
Take me back into a good night
Getting lost and going way way out of sight
On a long drive
Don't forget this in the daylight
We go past all of the old sights bright-eyed
And making new time
I wanna know what you're talking about
I wanna see you in all of your doubt
And maybe late at the end of the night
I'll just pretend to see you in a streetlight
Almost every time
Take me back into a good night
I don't think that it's the right time anytime
But I think now is fine
Don't forget this in the daylight
We go past all of the old sights bright-eyed
And making new time
Leave with the light you love here
And wait, I'll be coming back in time

Northeast Ohio Rocks

Stay out later in this quiet town
Cheer yourself up with a shark in a gown
Sing to streetlights and then say goodbye
Watching strangers for the rest of the night
Think we'll solve it by just walking around
It's not often that I can't be found
For the seventh day, the seventh time this year
We're the only ones left here
Now it's raining so don't stay inside
And we look crazy but we're more alive
In the dugout dancing by your side
That's the way we meet these restless nights
Think we'll solve it by just walking around
It's not often that I can't be found
For the seventh day, the seventh time this year
We're the only ones left here
Think we'll solve it by just walking around
It's not often that I can't be found
For the seventh day, the seventh time this year
We're the only ones left here

Bugs

This whole summer I've been covered in bugs
We've been getting along, it's been nice
What I needed as I trudging along
Through this strange and hazy dream of mine
And they've been caught inside my curtains, they've been buzzing in the dark
And I have found them on my fingers as I'm going on my walks
I don't think that there's a meaning, I can't say what it's all for
And every time it seems so fleeting and suddenly there's more
Things are hazy, getting harder to see
I can't always tell what's in front of me
But I see them when they're on the ground
And they want to know, "are you coming down?"
And they've been caught inside my curtains, they've been buzzing in the dark
And I have found them on my fingers as I'm going on my walks
I don't think that there's a meaning, I can't say what it's all for
And every time it seems so fleeting and suddenly there's more
Suddenly there's more
This whole summer I've been covered in bugs
We've been getting along and it's been nice

Other Wonders
03:47
|
|||
Sink your teeth in, there's a lot to taste
But made-up memories are keeping you awake
Holy places give you time to think
Wide-open spaces take you to the brink
You are careful with the choices that you tend to make
Wonder if that's why you always have to wait
You always have to
Give me other wonders like the light upon a face
In an airplane's cabin over semi-frozen lakes
And I don't need to worry, this is all it's gonna take
For some kind of glory, or that's what I tend to think
Take yourself to such a pretty place
Where you wonder what is keeping you this way
And shadow motions carry you away
From these strange emotions, always kept at bay
All your friends are gonna tell you you gotta figure out
Somehow very soon just what it is you want
What is it you want?
Give me other wonders like the light upon a face
In an airplane's cabin over semi-frozen lakes
And I don't need to worry, this is all it's gonna take
For some kind of glory, or that's what I tend to think
This is what I tend to think, this is what I tend to think,
This is all I tend to and it's what I tend to think
This is what I tend to think, show me something different
I hope I'm on the brink

Summer Lightning
04:43
|
|||
At a streetlight in the afternoon
Standing quiet in a darkened room
In the bookstore on the second floor
Lying wordless on my dirty floor
And I don't say much but I stay in touch
And I just want to make things clear
Summer lightning, it's not frightening
But I can't make myself move near
If I told you, would you even care?
I don't know you 'til I cut your hair
In the evening, in the pinkish light
I'll be dreaming for a second night
And I don't say much but I stay in touch
And I just want to make things clear
Summer lightning, it's not frightening
But I can't make myself move near
And I don't say much but I stay in touch
And I just want to make things clear
Summer lightning, it's not frightening
But I can't make myself move near
